You may have seen the name ‘Sinead Farry’ credited in illustrations for our workshop stories and now we’re delighted to tell you a little more about our volunteer illustrator extraordinaire! Sinead has been volunteering with Fighting Words NI for the past year and decided to offer her illustration skills because her children really enjoyed taking part in our creative writing workshops when they were at primary school.
As one of the many volunteers who joined us over the pandemic, Sinead was overjoyed to finally meet a school group in person at a workshop in Skainos.
Her favourite thing about volunteering is
“Hearing the children read their stories towards the end of the workshops. Their imagination and individuality shine through.”
While it might not be a complete surprise that Sinead has a collection of erasers, she currently has over 400 in her possession. We’re not sure she ever needs to use them, however!
